Before your consultation
A little preparation.
A more useful conversation.
Choose your consultation below. These checklists help you organize the discussion; they are not an official application document list or an assessment of eligibility.
Initial consultation
CAD 120 + applicable taxes · 30 minutes
- Write a short summary of your current situation and what you want to achieve.
- Choose up to three questions you would most like to discuss.
- Note any application, status or response deadline you already know about.
- Tell FYD whether another authorized professional is already advising you on the same matter.
You do not need to assemble an entire application for this conversation. A full document review is outside the session.
Thinking about a package? A paid initial consultation for the same matter can count towards a package if you upgrade within 14 days. The CAD 120 fee and the completed 30 minutes are counted once.
Express Entry DIY review
CAD 500 + applicable taxes · Three sessions · Up to four professional hours
- Initial consultation: bring your application stage, priorities and any invitation or submission dates. Agree which application and document set will be reviewed.
- Document review: supply one organized first set of the agreed forms and supporting documents through the private channel provided after the scope is confirmed. Mark missing items and questions rather than presenting an incomplete set as final.
- Final review: return one corrected set with a short list of what changed. Use the final discussion to address the agreed corrections and remaining questions before your own submission.
The four-hour allowance includes preparation, meetings, document review and written feedback. The review is for the agreed application, including declared accompanying family members where accepted; additional rounds or a materially different case require a separate scope discussion.
Qualifying upgrade: CAD 380 in professional fees remains, plus applicable taxes. Your initial session is already completed; 3.5 professional hours remain.
Spousal & partner sponsorship DIY review
CAD 900 + applicable taxes · Three sessions · Up to six professional hours
- Identify whether the proposed application is for a spouse or common-law partner and how far preparation has progressed.
- Prepare a concise relationship timeline and organize the identity, relationship and application records agreed with FYD.
- Disclose previous refusals, sponsor eligibility concerns, complex marital history or major evidence gaps before purchasing the standard review.
- Provide one organized first set and one corrected set for the document-review and final-review stages.
The three meetings follow the initial consultation, document review and final review sequence. All professional work counts towards six hours. Parents/grandparents sponsorship and complex circumstances are assessed separately. This package does not include preparing, translating or submitting the application.
Qualifying upgrade: CAD 780 in professional fees remains, plus applicable taxes. Your initial session is already completed; 5.5 professional hours remain.
Reconsideration consultation
CAD 1,200 + applicable taxes · Up to eight professional hours
- Identify the refused application, the decision date and when you received the decision.
- Prepare the refusal letter and relevant records from the original application. List any records you do not yet have.
- Flag any known appeal, court, status or response deadline before a meeting is accepted.
- Explain what outcome you want and whether another professional has already advised or acted on the refusal.
FYD first assesses whether reconsideration is suitable. Where appropriate, the agreed service covers analysis, strategy and one review of a request draft you prepare. It does not include filing, ongoing representation, an appeal or judicial review.
Time-sensitive matters: do not assume that requesting a consultation or reconsideration protects another deadline. Tell FYD about urgency promptly so the scope and any necessary referral can be addressed.
Qualifying upgrade: CAD 1,080 in professional fees remains, plus applicable taxes. The completed 30-minute initial consultation counts towards the eight-hour allowance.
Organize and share materials
- Agree the scope first. Wait for the signed agreement and client-specific document instructions. This preview has no upload facility.
- Keep each case separate. Use the case reference provided by FYD and a simple folder structure such as Forms, Supporting documents, Questions and Revised set.
- Use readable files. Prefer clear PDFs where practical. Keep all relevant pages together, preserve originals and retain any existing translations. Confirm translation requirements with the consultant.
- Make versions clear. A suggested filename is
CaseRef_DocumentType_2026-11-06_v1.pdf. Use a date and version rather than passport numbers or other sensitive identifiers in filenames. - Send one consolidated set per round. Include a list of missing items. For the revised set, identify changes made in response to feedback.
- Use the agreed private channel. Do not post documents to this website, a public folder, GitHub or meeting chat. You do not need to share your IRCC password or verification codes.
The live document-sharing provider and access arrangements will be confirmed before materials are collected. FYD will keep review notes and versions with the client file under its professional and privacy obligations.
